iPad owners in the United States have never had the opportunity to play real-money poker on their tablets. While Full Tilt Poker were still operating in the U.S. market, they managed to briefly release an Android and iPhone version of Rush Poker, but unfortunately the Department of Justice stepped in before they had a chance to release a tablet version.
That’s about to change thanks to our friends over at Carbon Poker. Even after the crack down on U.S. facing poker rooms on Black Friday, Carbon Poker continued to welcome real money players from the U.S. This week they announced they had just completed testing on a new mobile client and were in the process of recruiting players to try out a preview version before they offer it to the general public.
Details on the new app are a little sketchy at present but here’s what we can tell you right now…

A number of poker rooms such as PartyPoker, Bwin and 888 have already released iPad specific versions of their mobile clients, however, this is will be the first time a major poker room releases an iPad app in the United States. Carbon Poker are sure to benefit from being the only mobile room to accept U.S. players and should see a dramatic increase in the size of their player base over the coming months.

- Carbon Poker have opted to develop a web app as a native app would never be approved by Apple.
- The iPhone and iPod Touch versions will be released first, presumably because they have the same screen size. Android and iPad clients will follow shortly after that.
